I believe every child is unique with his or her own gifts and learning styles. My goal is to help provide an atmosphere of learning that meets each individual child. I believe in brain-based teaching strategies. Students learn best when they are fully engaged in the activities. Students are engaged when they are using what they know rather than just having knowledge about it. Students will learn and master key concepts through a variety of kinesthetic, visual, and auditory activities in large groups, small groups, and independently.

Learning stations are set up daily for students to explore. A child's curiosity and questions are important to developing critical thinking and problem solving skills early. I encourage my students not to be afraid to make mistakes but to learn from them. We celebrate diversity, abilities, talents, and interests. Social skills are built into every lesson where students are working together, learning from one another, and developing a sense of community in the classroom. I endeavor to make learning fun and relevant for all my students. My goal is for students to develop a love for learning, the skill sets, relationships, and hope to succeed that will stay with them!
